1982 Raft Trip |
![]() |
Attendees: George Adams Commentary: The first trip was so much fun, a new trip was organized with only GSPs. The initial response was incredible, but a number of people had to cancel out. We ended up running two trips down the river that year. One trip was all GSPs from Purdue, a part of the second trip was mostly friends of Dan Osborn's brother. They did tow a large BBQ spit, a frozen pig, and a large amount of dry ice from Indiana. The pig roasted all day and we had BBQ pork for dinner after the day of rafting. We've come a long way. The second raft trip was organized entirely by email. This was one of the invitation letters. Perhaps the most amazing thing is the amount of organization that was needed in those days to convince Mountain River Tours that we were real. Note, everybody had paid by mid-January in order to go on the trip. Now the first invitation doesn't even go out until late February |
