A buoy in Summersville Lake provided the entertainment one hot afternoon. The GSPs, a goal oriented group if there ever was one, decided that it was necessary to sink the buoy. We didn't get it very deep, but it did do a good job of launching Ed Bronson out of the water.

Another good way to spend an afternoon is watching the rafts come through Fayette Station, one of the last big rapids on the New River.

This year was a big year for exploring. The New River Visitors Center provided the location to find some new trails. According to a note on Don Wegeng's maps, this was the first year we found the trail to Lower Keeney Rapid on the New River

A trip to Babcock State Park means a walk down the Fisherman's trail to Mann's creek, a swim in the pool at the bottom, and rock hopping along Mann's creek back to the grist mill. Part of the trail follows the old roadbed of the Mann's Creek Railroad.

Finally, it's rafting time! These shots, taken on the river, show a bit of the excitement. Notice the old, heavy, oar boats. Sorry, no names, but I think it's a picture of Bill Klassen jumping off Jump Rock
